The meeting was led by Ms. Sa’odah, the field supervisor and coordinator of the internship program. In her address, she explained the three main stages of the internship, namely Internship 1 (School Observation), Internship 2 (Educational Administration), and Internship 3 (Teaching Assistance).
“Internship is not merely an academic requirement but also an opportunity to learn how to become a true educator in a real environment,” she stated during the opening session.
The meeting was conducted online via Zoom, allowing all participants to join from various regions. During the session, the committee also shared a Google Sheet document containing the list of partner schools, including names, locations, types of internship, and participant quotas. The partner schools are spread across Tangerang City and nearby areas, all of which have long-standing collaborations with FKIP UMT.
This internship program aims to bridge theoretical knowledge from the classroom with real-world teaching experience. Through the program, students will observe school activities, assist with administrative duties, and support teachers in classroom learning. The experience is expected to enhance their professional teaching competencies and strengthen their character as future educators.
The faculty also emphasized the importance of professional ethics and preparedness during the internship period. Students are expected to demonstrate discipline, responsibility, and good communication with both their field supervisors and mentor teachers.
“We hope that all students will serve as positive role models in their respective schools, bringing the spirit and values of FKIP UMT into the educational field,” added Ms. Sa’odah.
High enthusiasm was evident throughout the meeting, as many students actively asked questions regarding placement locations, schedules, and reporting requirements. The committee provided detailed explanations to ensure all participants clearly understood the procedures. The meeting ran smoothly and interactively, reflecting the strong collaboration between lecturers and students in preparing for the internship program.
The FKIP UMT internship program is not only a form of experiential learning but also an initiative to strengthen the university’s partnership with the educational community. Through this activity, the faculty aims to produce competent, ethical, and dedicated future teachers who are ready to face the challenges of modern education.
Looking ahead, FKIP UMT is committed to continuously improving the quality of its internship program by enhancing supervision systems, integrating digital tools, and expanding collaboration with reputable partner schools across Tangerang. It is expected that this year’s internship will run successfully and make a meaningful contribution to educational development in the region.
